On December 5, 2014, the Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine hosted the Virginia Science Summit in the Great Hall of the National Academy Building in Washington, DC. VASEM’s second annual summit focused on the theme of Big Data and the directions and implications of this fast moving topic for science, medicine, industry and business. The pace of data availability and acquisition is accelerating across all sectors of science and society.

Recognizing the enormous scope of this topic, the Program Committee developed an outstanding lineup of speakers who are leader in three areas leveraging big data.
